FAQ

These are the most common questions our customers ask. We regularly update these FAQs, so sing out if your question isn't answered here.
1. How much do HUCX panels cost?
The short answer is $3000 -> $3800 per square metre. Your panel pricing depends on your design specifications. The height and total length of external and internal walls, plus the total floor and roof area, all contribute to the final price. Once we have your design information, we can provide a price estimate. As a general rule, the prefab component should be about 50% of the overall cost of your building.
2. Is HUCX a registered builder?
No, we're not. We’re a manufacturer of a prefab building system. That said, registered builders can use HUCX panels to build a range of houses and dwellings. Depending on the size of your project, you may need to engage a registered builder to obtain a building certificate.
3. How are HUCX panels delivered?
We use trucks fitted with cranes to safely deliver your prefab and substructural elements to your build site. In most cases, vehicle-mounted cranes are sufficient to lift and position your prefab panels in place. If access to your site is restricted, we will arrange alternative delivery and lifting equipment.
4. Can HUCX manufacture my custom design?
Yes, we can. Simply ask your architect or draftsperson to send us the electronic 3D 'IFC' file of your custom design and we'll go from there.
5. Do HUCX sell building designs?
No, we don't. We manufacture panels to the design specifications supplied by architects and draftspeople. If you need someone to design your building, we have a great network of architects and draftspeople who know our HUCX system and would be happy to help.
6. Can HUCX buildings be built on concrete slabs?
Technically yes. However, our HUCX Prefab solution includes the floor and footing system. We strongly recommend using the HUCX floor and footing system to achieve the best outcomes, although we can adapt the HUCX system for concrete slabs if absolutely necessary.
7. What footings do HUXC Prefab use?
HUCX Prefab buildings use a concrete-free steel footing system called Surefoot™. HUCX can provide documentation and expertise with installing Surefoot™ footings. Visit the Surefoot™ website to learn more.
8. How big are HUCX panels?
The size of our panels are limited by their weight. A 2.7 m high wall panel without windows could be made to a length of 6 m. A floor panel is generally 2.4 m x 3.2 m and a roof panel is 2.4 m x up to 6 m.
9. What bushfire rating do HUCX Prefab panels have?
Our panels meet the 'very high' bushfire attack level rating of BAL 40.
